What will Auburn’s record be in 2021?

As it currently stands, Auburn will have to play five teams ranked in the preseason AP top 25. This includes three top six teams.

Obviously, the big games are against rivals Alabama and Georgia, but their schedule does feature a trip to Happy Valley to take on Penn State, which will be a big game for both schools.

  • Week 1: vs. Akron (W)-Akron finished 1-5 in their six-game season. Don’t bet on them to pull the upset in this one.
  • Week 2: vs. Alabama State (W)-The Division II Hornets might give the Tigers more of a challenge than Akron, but Auburn still gets the win.
  • Week 3: at (19) Penn State (L) -This one will be intriguing. Both teams had disappointing 2020 seasons, but with Happy Valley being a tough place to play and it being a primetime game, I give the nod to the Nittany Lions.
  • Week 4: vs. Georgia State (W)-The Panthers upset Tennessee in Knoxville back in 2019, so don’t count them out completely!
  • Week 5: @ (16) LSU (L)-Though Auburn mauled LSU last year, the Bayou Bengals will be looking for revenge in Death Valley, which does not bode well for Auburn.
  • Week 6: vs. (5) Georgia (L)-Ever since the famous “Prayer at Jordan-Hare” pass from Nick Marshall to Ricardo Lewis in 2013, Auburn has gone 1-8 against Georgia, and the Dawgs will make it 1-9 when they visit the Plains this season.
  • Week 7: @ Arkansas (W)-The Razorbacks almost pulled the upset last season, and although the game will be close, Auburn will down Arkansas in a close game.
  • Week 8: vs. Ole Miss (W)-Another team that played Auburn close last year, Lane Kiffin and company will give Auburn everything they can handle, but the Tigers pull this one out.
  • Week 9: @ (6) Texas A&M (L)-Though the Aggies don’t have Kellen Mond at QB anymore, they are still stacked with talent to be in the SEC West conversation this year.
  • Week 10: vs. Mississippi State (W)-Who knows what Mike Leach and his antics will do to the Bulldogs in 2021. Though they will be better, they won’t be better enough to beat Auburn.
  • Week 11: @ South Carolina (W)-The Gamecocks will also have a new head coach in Shane Beamer. They pulled the upset in 2020, but I think Auburn will be looking for some revenge this year.
  • Week 12: vs. (1) Alabama (L)-The Iron Bowl is always unpredictable, but for now I’m taking the defending National Champions.

Final record: 7-5 (4-4 SEC)

Bowl Prediction: Gator Bowl vs. NC State

This will be a rebuilding year for the Tigers with their new head coach. All eyes will be on Coach Harsin as he makes his first impression in the Southeastern Conference.
