Oklahoma will have the best offense in college football

Oklahoma is used to having the top offense in the country, but they sputtered at times last season. The running game was lacking at times last season and the offensive line was not up to Oklahoma standards.

This season, both of those problems appear to be fixed, so good luck stopping the Sooners.

At quarterback, Oklahoma has the Heisman favorite and potential No. 1 overall draft pick in Spencer Rattler and he appears poised for a monster season. Rattler threw for over 3,000 yards with 28 touchdowns last season and that is with his early-season struggles. He is great at making plays on the move and has a cannon for an arm. He appears to have cut down on the turnovers and he will have one of the best — if not the best — wide receiver rooms in the country to throw to. Expect a Heisman caliber season from the Sooners’ quarterback.

The running game struggled at times last season, but that should not be an issue in 2021. Projected starter Kennedy Brooks opted out of the 2020 season, but he is a very talented back who will bring electricity to the running game this season. Oklahoma also welcomed in Eric Gray, who was the leading rusher for Tennessee last season. Gray and Brooks will form one of the top duos in the country.

The wide receiver room is almost unfairly talented. Only Ohio State might have a better receiving corps, but it is not by much. Marvin Mims is one of the most electric players in the country, but his counterpart Theo Wease is just as talented. Former five-star recruit Jadon Haselwood had to sit out the 2020 season with a knee injury, but he is back this season. Oklahoma added Arkansas transfer Mike Woods to the unit and has an incoming five-star recruit in Mario Williams.

The offensive line was inconsistent last season and lost their leader Creed Humphrey to the NFL, but there is help on the way. Oklahoma added Tennessee’s starting left tackle Wanya Morris in the transfer portal and he makes this unit formidable.
