Georgia Football: Bulldogs hope to end national championship drought
Dawgs have a tough opener, but the rest of the schedule is very manageable
Georgia football will play in perhaps the most anticipated season opener in recent memory when they open the season in Charlotte vs the Clemson Tigers. Georgia is also going to have its neutral site showdown with Florida, which should decide the SEC East again.
- Game 1: Vs Clemson (W)- This is going to be a tough game to win if Washington or Smith do not play, but the Dawgs are still equipped to win. Clemson has some concerns in the secondary and on the offensive line and Georgia can exploit them.
- Game 2: UAB (W)- Coming off of a huge win, Georgia will need to regain focus to take on one of the best teams in the C-USA.
- Game 3: South Carolina (W)- The Gamecocks upset UGA the last time these teams were in Athens, but that won’t be the case this time around.
- Game 4: At Vanderbilt (W)- The Commodores are rebuilding and are going to be the worst team in the SEC this season.
- Game 5: Arkansas (W)- Arkansas gave Georgia a surprise scare for the first half in last season’s game, but Georgia wins big at home.
- Game 6: At Auburn (W)- Auburn is another SEC team that is rebuilding and I can’t see them beating Georgia, even at home.
- Game 7: At Kentucky (W)- Kentucky nearly beat Georgia in Athens last season and UGA needs to make sure they don’t get caught sleeping in this one.
- Game 8: Vs Florida (W)- The winner punches their ticket to the SEC Championship and Georgia gets revenge after their defensive lapse against the Gators last season.
- Game 9: Missouri (W)- This could be a trap game coming off the win over Florida, but Georgia will be ready for the Tigers.
- Game 10: At Tennessee (W)- Tennessee is a mess right now and Georgia could name their score in this game.
- Game 11: Charleston Southern (W)- Georgia’s main focus needs to be leaving this game with no injuries.
- Game 12: At Georgia Tech (W)- The Yellow Jackets are going to hope to catch UGA looking ahead to the SEC Championship Game, but that won’t happen.
Final Record: 12-0, 8-0 SEC
If Georgia football makes it past Clemson, they have a real shot at running the table. The Dawgs have a soft schedule and should be double-digit favorites in every game besides Clemson and Florida. It is time for Georgia to capitalize on the opportunity in front of them.
