2. Boise State has a stout defense

New Broncos head coach Andy Avalos was a former player at Boise State and was formerly the defensive coordinator at Oregon. The Broncos already had a stout defense last season, but with Avalos as head coach, I expect this unit to only get better.

Boise State is bringing back all of their starters on the defensive line and they have some studs up front that will make life tough on UCF. Shane Irwin, Scale Igiehon, and Scott Matlock are all experienced and can make an impact early on in the game.

The only worry I have about the Bronco’s defense is they are missing some cornerbacks and that could be a problem against a passing attack as lethal as UCF’s has the potential to be. Overall, I think Boise’s defense can make life tough for UCF and that will be a huge difference in the game.
