How will Clemson football fare in 2021?

  • Game 1: at Georgia (L) — This game is a toss-up. JT Daniels injected life into the Georgia pass game but did so against bad teams. This one comes down to which quarterback plays best, and the Bulldogs get the edge because Daniels is the veteran.
  • Game 2: South Carolina State (W) — The Tigers should have no problem against the Bulldogs in a money game for South Carolina State.
  • Game 3: Georgia Tech (W) — The Yellow Jackets do not have the roster to compete with Clemson. This game will tell how far Geoff Collins and his staff have left to go. Tigers big.
  • Game 4: at NC State (W) — The Wolfpack defense was not as good as it has been in the past. Even with Bailey Hockman healthy, North Carolina State loses. Tigers win the Textile Bowl again.
  • Game 5: Boston College (W) — The Eagles played the Tigers within one game last season. That will not happen again this year. Boston College hangs for maybe a quarter or so, and the Tigers pull away after halftime.
  • Game 6: at Syracuse (W) — No miracles in the dome this season. The Tigers dominate on both sides of scrimmage and hand the Orange a blowout loss in this game.
  • Game 7: at Pitt (W) — If Florida State were any good, this could be a trap game. Who is Pittsburgh’s dominant defensive end this season? The Panthers can’t run the ball or throw downfield. Clemson romps again this season.
  • Game 8: Florida State (W) — This could be Clemson’s most competitive game since opening the season at Georgia. Expect Florida State to lose big but show some moxy and improvement in this game.
  • Game 9: at Louisville (W) — Interesting game here. Will Louisville show gradual improvement after losing Chitarius Atwell and Javian Hawkins? It won’t matter much after Clemson makes some halftime adjustments. The Tigers pull away in the third quarter of this game.
  • Game 10: UConn (W) — The only question about this game is how much is Randy Edsall’s bonus if the Huskies aren’t shut out of this game?
  • Game 11: Wake Forest (W) — The Demon Deacons scored just 13 points in last season’s meeting. That would be a miracle total this season — Tigers huge at home before the rivalry game.
  • Game 12: at South Carolina (W) — By all accounts, Shane Beamer is a nice fellow. That does not equal wins. Clemson could make the over by themselves in this game.

Prediction: 11-1, 8-0 ACC

Clemson has separated itself from the rest of the conference with one of the best rosters in college football. The only team that can beat Clemson in the ACC is Clemson.

The Tigers are favored in every game this season, and they should be.

Even with the turnover offensively, the Tigers are too talented not to go undefeated in the conference. Beating Georgia in a de facto home game in Charlotte would not be an upset either. The only question for Clemson is whether or not they can win it all this season.
