2. The run game will struggle

I think that North Carolina’s biggest concern is going to be with the running game on offense. Having two powerful backs like Michael Carter and Javonte Williams last season was a big boost to take pressure off of the passing game and I think that early on in the season, their presence will be missed.

The guy that is supposed to be replacing some of that production is Tennessee transfer Ty Chandler who formed one of the top running back duos with Eric Gray at Tennessee in recent years but decided to spend his final season of eligibility in Chapel Hill. Chandler is a good all-around back who should have a nice season, but finding a back to pair with him could be a challenge.

I think Friday night is going to be about who is going to be sharing the ball with Chandler this season. I don’t think Chandler is good enough to carry the running game himself and I also don’t think he is as talented as Michael Carter or Javonte Williams.

With some uncertainty with depth, the running game might struggle on Friday night.
