A classic game

Many opening games end up being lopsided. It happens during bowl season too. Sometimes when two teams have that long to prepare, that can happen — we have seen that with Alabama often.

With all the extra preparation time, it always gives the best head coaches an edge. Nick Saban is a master and when he has that extra time, it only makes it harder to beat him and Alabama.

Who has the coaching edge in this one? That’s hard to say. Dabo has the national championship to his credit but Kirky Smart has gotten the Dawgs to the doorstep. Now, it’s time to kick down the door.

Whoever wins on Saturday night will have their playoff hopes boosted. The winner will likely need to win their league but a loss on the way wouldn’t have much impact.

For the loser? The exact opposite is true. And for Clemson football, a loss is even direr.  Georgia can still win the SEC, but the ACC is viewed as a weak league and even if Clemson rebounded and won out, it might not be enough.

So with everything at stake, I expect a classic and a game we will be talking about all year.

However, I think Georiga pulls it out in the end, winning a thriller.
