No turnovers for Graham Mertz

If the Heisman trophy was awarded after one game then in 2020 it probably would have gone to Graham Mertz.

The Badgers quarterback was on fire. For the NBA Jam fans out there Mertz was literally one of the players that was on fire having everything go his way during the first game in 2020. Graham Mertz completed 20 of 21 passes for 248 yards and threw for five touchdowns. Mertz was not bad the rest of the year, just not as great as he was the opening night of the season.

Mertz had five interceptions on the short season in 2020 which is not terrible, but the timing of those interceptions really hurt the Badgers. The talented quarterback also had the inability to just throw the ball away instead of taking the sack. Graham Mertz was only a freshman last year, and almost all freshmen have some sort of growing pains unless you are named Trevor Lawrence.

Graham Mertz will take care of the ball and not give it away to the Nittany Lions on Saturday. Turnovers in conference games especially are usually the deciding factor down the stretch in coming out with a victory or leaving with a disappointing loss. I am not saying the Badgers will not turn it over in this game, but it will not be from Mertz.
