There has been an influx of talented playmakers at Oklahoma over the past five years. Marvin Mims plans to be a part of the future.

The speedy sophomore picked up 104 yards in just 20 minutes of game time and finished with 117 on five catches. Mims showed off his great acceleration and was the most explosive playmaker on the field today.

The man who fed Mims those yards had a pretty good game himself. Spencer Rattler finished with 304 yards, two touchdowns (one rushing), and two interceptions while completing 77 percent of his passes.

Overall, Rattler played well as his arm talent cannot go unquestioned. He completed a high percentage of his passes and used his mobility to extend plays.

A reoccurring theme of his Oklahoma football career thus far seems to be his decision-making. Rattler had five interceptions in his first four games last year. Having two on opening day will do little to rest the concerns of Sooner fans.

But, another thing Oklahoma cannot handle is Rattler getting hurt and missing time. I bring this up because Rattler embraces contact as a runner and at times does not fully commit to sliding.

For Rattler to stay healthy and avoid turnovers, he must improve his decision-making as he makes a step to the next level.
