You might be wondering how JT Daniels made the list following a sluggish opening performance against Clemson.

But a big part of winning the Heisman Trophy over the years has meant being a quarterback on a really good team. Daniels only threw for 135 yards and actually threw an interception but he gets some credit for what his team did as the Bulldogs survived against Clemson 10-3.

And this power ranking has more to do with chances of winning the Heisman at the end of the season and because of that win, as well as avoiding a disastrous performance, such as throwing multiple interceptions or a memorable pick-6, Daniels is still in a great spot to contend.

It was the first game and Clemson is a stout defensive team. Daniels is going to put up big numbers and as long as he shows up in some big games such as against Auburn, Florida, and eventually against Alabama, he will be right there.

But to be fair, he’s going to need to make up for last week.
