2. Iowa State vs. Iowa (under 46.5)

Usually you don’t see an over/under this low, but when it’s Iowa State and Iowa, it just makes sense. The Cyclones and Hawkeyes always seem to have some low-scoring defensive battles, and this year will be no different and their respective season-opening games are proof of that.

Iowa opened the year with a 34-6 win over Indiana in Iowa City and the game was pretty much decided early on. The Hawkeyes’ defense smothered Michael Penix Jr. and the Hoosiers and quickly became one of the favorites in the Big Ten West,

Conversely, Iowa State held Northern Iowa to just 10 points, but the Cyclones only scored 16, sneaking by the FCS foe. The Cyclones always seem to struggle early in the year offensively and I think that’s going to continue against rival Iowa.

This is going to have a slobber-knocker, drag-it-out feel and both offenses will be worn and beaten by the start of the fourth quarter.

Only two times in the past six meetings has this game gone over 46.5 points and I think we can make that two out of seven on Saturday.
