2. Defense fails to build momentum

Things felt right for the Longhorns last week. The defense only allowed 18 points, created constant pressure, and held Louisiana’s running game in check.

Things were a lot different tonight, as Arkansas was running up and down the field against the Longhorns. As I mentioned before, five different players carried the ball at least five times. All of these players averaged over 6.1 yards per carry.

They weren’t able to limit the passing game much either. KJ Jefferson finished the day completing 74 percent of his passes.

Drive after drive, Arkansas was pouring it on with their offense. The Razorbacks finished the game by scoring on seven of their last eight drives that were not ended by the half.

Texas was not able to get off the field on third down, allowing Arkansas to convert on 5-of-11 attempts.

It was a long night for everybody who wore the burnt orange. But, for this defense it is disappointing to not sustain the good play they put out last week.
