2. Tyler Badie continued to show why he’s one of the top running backs in the SEC

In the season opener against Central Michigan, Badie erupted for 203 rushing yards, the sixth-most in the country through week one.

While his stats against the Wildcats weren’t as gaudy as they were in Week One, he didn’t get as many opportunities to run the ball. The Tigers gave him 14 carries for 61 yards this week, compared to 25 in the season opener.

That’s mostly due to Kentucky playing great run defense. Drinkwitz found other ways to utilize Badie, calling his number more often than any other receiver tonight. Badie pulled in 10 catches for 88 yards, scoring 1 touchdown.

Speaking of catches, we should note that senior tight end Daniel Parker Jr. pulled in 2 touchdowns tonight after going three years without scoring a touchdown, as the SECN announcers noted during the broadcast.

Missouri football has one of the strongest backfields in the SEC East. If Badie and Baze can stay healthy, they’ll put up big numbers this season.
