Team of the week: Norfolk State

While the Delaware State Hornets were the closest team in the conference to winning a game this past weekend, it cannot be ignored that they gave up a two-touchdown lead in defeat.

Meanwhile, the Norfolk State Spartans put up a solid effort in a loss against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

While quarterback Juwan Carter is rightfully getting praise for his performance, the Norfolk State Spartans were excellent on the ground recording 141 rushing yards.

This is the second straight week the Spartans have recorded more than 140 rushing yards. In contrast, they only had five games with 140 rushing yards or more.

If this team is able to establish their run like this all season providing a second threat to their already elite passing game, they could put their name among the best offenses in all of HBCU football.
