Auburn stays put just inside the top half of the conference after blanking Alabama State 60-0. They don’t move up despite two big offensive showings because of the quality of their opponents. These are just not good teams.

However, they face off against Penn State in Happy Valley this week and that is sure to be an interesting game that will show us for real what Auburn is made of.

Until then, they sit just inside the top half showing that they are good, but not yet great.

Ole Miss also stays put at No. 5 after a win over Austin Peay that was exactly what everyone expected it to be: dominant. The Rebels play Tulane this week, a team that took Oklahoma to the final minutes, but I don’t expect the same to happen to Ole Miss.

On any given Saturday, though, anything can happen.

They have a bye the next week before facing off against Alabama and honestly, they are going to need all the help they can get with that one.
