Best teams to never make CFB Playoffs: 1. TCU, 2014

TCU fans are still somewhere punching the air right now.

In the first year that the College Football Playoffs were introduced, the Horned Frogs were in the best possible position to not only get selected but make some serious noise.

Throughout the entirety of the 2014 season, they made it look incredibly easy against the competition that was placed in front of them. The only blimp on their resume came against Baylor. Even then, that game came right down to the wire and became an instant classic. TCU would go on to lose 61-58 but considering how good Baylor was that year, it appeared as though that loss was fairly acceptable.

In the second to last official rankings, the Horned Frogs were positioned perfectly as they sat as the third-ranked team in the nation. To buffer their chances, TCU went out and destroyed Iowa State by a score of 55-3. Yet, for some inexcusable reason, they ranked sixth in the final rankings and were officially out of the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State would go on to mount a late rally at the end of the season and TCU fans were left furious. It was surprising to everyone involved and for that, we have to place them at the top of our list.
