College Football Rankings 2021: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 4
Fresno State has been a thorn in the side of another Pac-12 contender already this season and the Bulldogs put up a fight against UCLA in the last game of the night. The Bruins weren’t able to hold on as Fresno State pulled off the mammoth upset to cap off a crazy weekend.
Defense is just not going to be the strength of North Carolina this season as the Tar Heels surrendered nearly 600 passing yards to Virginia, but Sam Howell had 307 yards and five passing touchdowns of his own in a 20-point conference win. It’s still tough to tell just how good North Carolina is right now.
KJ Jefferson didn’t need many completions to throw for well over 300 yards as he was 13-for-23 with 366 yards and three touchdowns. The offense cruised yet again as the Razorbacks improved to 3-0 on the year with a 45-10 win over Georgia Southern and we should see them climb ever so slightly. Sam Pittman has a solid team this year.
Wisconsin had a bye this week which comes at the perfect time because the Badgers have to prepare to face Notre Dame in Week 4. If Graham Mertz and the Badgers can turn things around offensively, this team might just pull off the upset of Notre Dame next week and move on up.
BYU is closing in on three wins over three Pac-12 teams to begin the season and if the Cougars are able to hold on against No. 19 Arizona State, they deserve to jump considerably in the rankings. Wins over Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State deserve some recognition. Jaren Hall looks legit and the BYU was able to hold on to beat ASU.
