Penn State Football: 3 hot takes in huge win over Auburn
Penn State needs to do whatever it takes to make sure James Franklin stays
Penn State needs to do whatever it takes to make sure that James Franklin stays in Happy Valley for the foreseeable future. There have been reports of James Franklin and USC having mutual interest in Franklin possibly being the next coach at USC.
These are just reports, so not sure if Franklin actually is interested at all but the Nittany Lions need to take no chances.
Athletic Director Sandy Barbour at Penn State rewarded James Franklin with a new deal after the 2019 season when Franklin helped lead the Nittany Lions to a 10-win year in 2019. Franklin has led Penn State to three 10 win seasons in the last five years.
The new contract runs through 2025, but it also might almost be worth reaching out on seeing if adding a year or two onto that contract can help make sure Franklin stays at Penn State and does not even think about USC at the end of this season.
We all know it was not too long ago that Penn State was in a bad place, especially surrounding its football program. Franklin has helped bring Penn State back to being relevant again. If Franklin were to end up leaving who knows what coach comes in and can find success on their end.
Again, it is not known if Franklin is actually interested in USC. Maybe that is just a smokescreen and it’s totally false. Still believe Penn State has to show Franklin that Happy Valley is where he belongs overall.
