1. Breece Hall rushes for 100 yards for second straight game

After the first game of the season, there was some worry that Breece Hall would have a bit of a slump in a Heisman-hopeful season the way Chuba Hubbard did last year. He was expected to be the top running back in the Big 12 last season and kind of struggled after recording 2,000 yards in 2019. Hall wanted different luck.

But after rushing for just 69 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries against Northern Iowa, 2021 had the feel of a letdown early on.

He improved ever so slightly against Iowa in Week 2, rushing for 69 yards and a touchdown again, but this time on 10 fewer carries. Hall took another step forward against UNLV in Week 3 with 100 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries, looking more like his 2020 self.

On Saturday, he’s going to have his second straight 100-yard game and really put to rest all of the panic over his slow start. He’s going to put the Iowa State offense on his back — and legs.
