Texas A&M Football: 3 Reasons Aggies will beat Arkansas
A dominant defense means no fast starts
One thing Arkansas has been able to do this season is start fast. They have outscored opponents 34-0 in the first quarter and in the win over Texas, the Razorbacks built a 33-7 advantage, leaving Texas shell-shocked.
However, the Razorbacks, who have been dominant on the ground, averaging more than six yards per attempt, haven’t faced a defense or a front-seven like Texas A&M.
Not only does Texas A&M football have elite players such as Demarvin Leal but the defense is allowing just five points per game and 239 total yards, although 162 of those are on the ground.
A&M does give up 4.1 yards per carry, but the Aggies hold up well enough that KJ Jefferson is going to have to make some plays with his arm in order for Arkansas to win.
The Razorbacks aren’t going to run all over the Aggies and simply put, the A&M front seven is good enough to stalemate with the Arkansas run game, which is all it really needs to do.
