3. Chris Tyree and Jay Bramblett

These two players had great afternoons on special teams for the Irish. Without either one playing and having huge games who knows if the Irish leave Soldier Field with a victory.

If you follow Notre Dame you already know that Chris Tyree is known for his speed. Tyree made sure everybody else who tuned into this game knew he had great speed as well.

Trailing 13-10 early in the fourth quarter the Irish needed a spark. Tyree gave them a spark and more as he took the kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. The Irish took the lead 17-13 and never looked back.

This was the game-changing play in my opinion for Notre Dame as a team. The momentum was shifting toward Wisconsin but the kickoff return helped shift it back towards Notre Dame.

Irish punter Jay Bramblett had a great day for Notre Dame. Yes, I am including the punter in being a player of the game because it was earned against Wisconsin.

Bramblett had seven punts on the afternoon with an average of 46.3, and also had two of them downed inside the 20. One of those seven punts was booted for a massive 72 yards, too.

Field position is huge and Bramblett helped make sure the Badgers had to go down the field and earn it all afternoon against the Notre Dame defense. The Irish have a really good one in Jay Bramblett.
