Heisman trophy candidate No. 3: JT Daniels, QB, Georgia

Thanks to an injury that caused him to miss Week 2, JT Daniels of Georgia lost a little attention but he’s back in the mix after two stellar games.

Daniels threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in the SEC opener against South Carolina and looked spectacular doing it.

Last Saturday against Vanderbilt, he looked just as good. Too bad the Commodores are so bad he only saw limited action, but Daniels completed 9-of-10 passes for 129 yards and two scores before leaving the game because it was out of reach.

So far, Daniels is completing 76 percent of his passes and averaging eight yards per attempt. He does have two interceptions, but Saturday against Arkansas will give him the platform to really get his Heisman candidacy on track.

If it’s another low-scoring affair like Clemson, that won’t help Daniels, who needs a big night, along with a win, to become a truly viable contender.
