4. Ole Miss gives Alabama a run for its run money in its toughest game yet

No. 12 Ole Miss is trying to do something a college football team hasn’t been done since Nov. 30, 2019 — beat Alabama.

Ole Miss fans have reason to feel optimistic about this game for two main reasons: Lane Kiffin is proving to be a shrewd head coach and his quarterback is playing better than just about anyone in the country.

Junior Matt Corral has nine touchdown passes and zero interceptions this season to go along with five rushing touchdowns. He had a bye last week, so he’s fresh and had an extra week to prepare for the Crimson Tide. His name is thrown around in just about every Heisman Trophy conversation. Ole Miss will need Corral to have the game of his life if they want so much as an opportunity to knock off top-ranked Alabama.

Ole Miss has scored 158 points through three games this season, while Alabama has scored 186 points through four games. Both teams are winning in blow-out games. It’s time to see what both of these teams are made of in Week 5 of college football.

Game info: No. 12 Ole Miss travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to take on the No. 1 Crimson Tide on Oct. 2 at 3:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
