Week 4: Lost to UTSA 28-31
The Memphis Tigers were on a 17-game home winning streak before falling to Texas-San Antonio on a field goal as time expired. The Tigers appeared to have the Roadrunners right where they wanted them when went up 21-0 in the first quarter. However, UTSA went on a 31-7 scoring run beginning in the second quarter to end the Tigers’ home winning streak. Memphis will travel to Temple (2-2) next week for its first conference game of the season.

Week 4: Defeated Marshall 31-30
Appalachian State is playing excellent football this season, showing why they are one of the top Group of Five teams in the country. Their one loss this season came against then-ranked Miami by two points. The Mountaineers continue to be well-coached, evident by the decision to have sophomore running back Nate Noel stop a few yards short of the goal line on a breakaway run against Marshall with 50 seconds left in the game. With Marshall having no timeouts, Appalachian State was then able to kneel the ball and end the game. Next up for the Mountaineers is a conference game against Georgia State (1-3).

Week 4: Defeated Miami (OH) 23-10
Army is playing great football right now and college football coaches are noticing, evident by the team receiving some votes to be ranked in the Coaches Poll. Senior quarterback Christian Anderson has been successful as a dual-threat. He’s thrown three touchdown passes and ran for five more. The Black Knights hit the road to face Ball State (1-3) this week.

Week 4: Defeated Texas Christian 42-34
Southern Methodist continues to light it up on offense, led by the nation’s premier touchdown thrower in Tanner Mordecai. The gunslinger has thrown 20 touchdown passes through four games this season. The Mustangs are averaging 43 points per game, good enough for 10th-most in the country. The quality win against TCU of the Big 12 shows that the Ponies are the real deal. They’ll play their first conference game this week against South Florida (1-3).

UTSA knew they’d have their hands full on the road against a Memphis team that just upset Mississippi State in Week 3. The Roadrunners used their junior star running back Sincere McCormick to rack up three touchdowns for 184 yards on 42 carries to power their way through a really good Memphis team. UTSA has only had a football program for 10 years, but they already look like a force to be reckoned with. They take on UNLV (0-4) at home this week.
