2. Boston College at (25) Clemson

For a conference that is a mess this season, we are giving them some love this week. Another ACC game in the spotlight with Boston College traveling to Clemson. To be honest, this game is here for a simple reason. Can the Eagles put the Tigers out of their misery?  Fans who are tired of the Tigers’ success are hoping so.

The Tigers have basically been eliminated from the College Football Playoff, being the first time they will miss the four-team tournament since its inaugural year back in the 2014 season. Is Dabo Swinney’s dynasty over? Maybe not but they certainly seem to be taking this year off. A third loss would be the total nail in their coffin.

Boston College, like Wake Forest, has not had the strongest of schedules so far. Colgate, UMass, and Temple are not exactly murderer’s row. The Eagles did get a victory over a middle-of-the-pack SEC team in Missouri last Saturday.

Clemson is full of all kinds of offensive woes. Their confidence has to be shaken. A loss to Georgia in Week 1 where the Tigers only scored three points is one thing. The Bulldogs look to be really strong this season. But beating Georgia Tech 14-8 and scoring only 14 in regulation in an eventual loss in double overtime to NC State is not a good look.

If Boston College is going to take full advantage of a down year for Clemson, the time is now. If the Eagles win, they will be a strong contender for the ACC crown.
