Loser: Alabama (No. 5)

It is hard to put into words how shocking Alabama’s defeat to Texas A&M was. Alabama is accustomed to dispatching unranked teams and they came in as nearly three-touchdown favorites on the road. Some costly turnovers and special teams play cost the Crimson Tide and their number one ranking.

Make no mistake though, Alabama is still very much in play to make the playoff, but there is little room for error at this point. It is going to make an SEC title win against Georgia a must and that is not a given at this point. Expect the Crimson Tide to bounce back against Mississippi State this week.

Loser: BYU (No. 19)

Despite being undefeated, it felt like the Cougars were flying a bit under the radar. This was a sloppy game for BYU and their turnovers really did them in against Boise State. With all of this chaos, BYU could have really benefitted from a win yesterday.

This can still be a special season for BYU. They have already exceeded expectations and the schedule is not that difficult. This is still a very disappointing loss for BYU, but I expect them to bounce back and finish strong.
