Week 6 result: Won 52-46 vs. Western Kentucky
Texas-San Antonio has been one of the biggest success stories among Group of Five teams this season. Their entire football program is not even a decade old, and they’re already playing great football. With quality wins this season against Illinois and Memphis, the Roadrunners have become a force to be reckoned with in Conference USA halfway through the season. Against Western Kentucky, quarterback Frank Harris erupted for 349 passing yards and six touchdowns — his best game of the 2021 college football season.

Week 6 result: Won 31-24 vs. Navy
SMU quarterback Tanner Mordecai had his worst game of the 2021 college football season. However, his worst game is still many players’ best game. Mordecai threw a season-low two touchdowns and took his first sack of the season against Navy. Mordecai still leads the country with the most touchdown passes thrown (26 total). His Mustangs will have the week off before hosting Tulane at home on Oct. 21.

We are six games into the season and coastal Carolina is still averaging nearly 50 points per game — an incredible feat. Their smallest margin of victory came against Buffalo when they only won by three points. The Chanticleers have the week off before facing Appalachian State on the road.

Week 6 result: Won 52-3 vs. Temple
Cincinnati has proven time and time again they are not just the best Group of Five team, they are one of the best teams in the country. Period. The Bearcats will need to be careful not to coast too much the rest of the way this season. Their next real test won’t come until Nov. 20 when Cincinnati hosts a ranked SMU team with an offense that can rival their own.
