Best Group of Five Player No. 6: Calvin Austin III, Memphis WR

The senior wideout for Memphis does a little bit of everything for the Tigers and he excels at everything he’s asked to do. Austin has accumulated more receiving yards than any player in the nation, recording 837 through six games. He’s tied for fourth in number of receiving touchdowns with eight and has the 11th-most punt return yards with 135. A returned punt for a touchdown against Mississippi State gives him 9 total touchdowns so far in 2021.

Best Group of Five Player No. 5: Tanner Mordecai, SMU QB

SMU stud Tanner Mordecai leads the country with the most touchdown passes (26), accumulating 1,893 passing yards along the way. He’s completing 71% of his passes so far this season and is a big reason why the Mustangs are undefeated ranked in the AP Top 25 thus far into the 2021 college football season. Mordecai has thrown for more than 300+ passing yards in all but one game this season and has recorded four passing touchdowns or more in all but one game.
