Best Group of Five Player No. 2: Malik Willis, Liberty QB

The junior transfer from Auburn is showing the college football world why he’s going to be in consideration to be the top quarterback selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. Willis is incredibly gifted, able to devastate defenses through the air or on the ground. So far this season, he’s thrown for 1,327 yards and 13 touchdowns. He’s also recorded 82 rushes for 498 yards and 7 touchdowns. He’s taken care of the ball and made smart passes— he threw zero interceptions through the first five games of the season. All eyes will be on Willis when he faces his toughest test of the season on Nov. 6 at Ole Miss.

Best Group of Five Player No. 1: Bailey Zappe, Western Kentucky QB

Senior Bailey Zappe has played breathtakingly well in 2021. He’s got the second-most passing yards and 2nd most touchdowns thrown— 2,235 and 21, respectively. He’s been efficient too, completing 70.4% of his passes and throwing just 3 interceptions. He’s recorded  420+ passing yards in all but one game this season, with junior wideout Jerreth Sterns directly benefiting with 7 touchdown catches on 741 receiving yards.
