3. Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M HC

Current Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher was hired by current LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward. When Woodard got Fisher (who was unhappy at Florida State) to come to College Station, it was quite the coups.

Not only did Woodward get a sitting head coach, but the then-AD at A&M also got a sitting head coach who won a National Title. Woodward has proven that he has little fear when swinging for the fences.

Woodward knows how important it is to get this hire right. Fisher has history at LSU and was beloved by Tiger nation. If Woodward calls to kick the tires on Fisher’s interest, the former Florida State coach has a decision to make. That decision comes down to one crucial question for Jimbo.

Does he (Jimbo Fisher) think Texas A&M’s ceiling is winning a National Championship? Not only does coach Fisher know LSU’s ceiling is a title; he won one as offensive coordinator on Nick Saban’s staff in 2003.

Fisher is making a king’s ransom at Texas A&M. He’d make, well, whatever is more than a king’s ransom at LSU. Fisher is one of the best recruiters in the game and would have great success in Louisiana.

Here’s the kicker of the entire situation; the contract Fisher signed at Texas A&M (which Woodward offered) does not have a buy-out.

Would Fisher follow Woodward again?

Note: Fisher has said that there’s “nothing there” at LSU for him but we’ve heard coaches say no thanks early only to take the job later before.
