Whole Purdue Defense

The Purdue defense played so well against Iowa it would not be fair to just pick one guy from it overall. From start to finish they really did dominate and not let Iowa get comfortable out there.

The defensive front seemed to be in the Iowa backfield all game with constant pressure. They had four sacks on the day with eight tackles for a loss.

The secondary was great in forcing Iowa quarterback Spencer Petras into a lot of rushed throws, and also just locking down the Iowa receivers all afternoon. Petras threw 4 interceptions on the day. Safety Cam Allen was one of the favorite targets for Petras with two interceptions for the Boilermakers defense. Kieran Douglas and Dedrick Mackey also each had an interception for Purdue

The Purdue defensive unit was able to limit Iowa to only 195 passing yards and 271 yards as a team. This was the first game of the season that Iowa did not score at least 23 points too. The defensive game plan was well executed by the Purdue staff so they deserve a ton of credit for this huge win for the program.
