UCF Football: 3 takeaways from dominant ‘Space Game’ win over Memphis
2. Isaiah Bowser had one of his best games as a UCF football player
In just his second game back from missing games due to injury, running back Isaiah Bowser looked like the best player on the field against Memphis.
The Northwestern transfer had 26 rushes for 111 yards against the Tigers. It was a really encouraging sign to see the senior have his first great game since recovering from a leg injury.
Bowser also caught two passes for a total of 10 yards.
Earlier in the season, Bowser enjoyed a huge game against Boise State when he racked up 172 rushing yards and a touchdown. A week after that, he racked up 4 touchdowns against Bethune-Cookman. Then, in week 3, Bowser sustained an injury against Louisville.
Bowser’s first game back came against the now-No. 2 ranked Cincinnati Bearcats. He had limited carries in that game (13) but managed to rush for 27 yards and a touchdown.
Bowser will look to use this game as a confidence builder, knowing he can still make those powerful runs and wear down the opposing defensive lines.
Once his starting quarterback, Dillon Gabriel returns, AAC teams better watch out.
