College Football Week 9: Saturday, 3:30

Georgia vs Florida, CBS Sports 3:30 PM EST

There aren’t a ton of marquee games during the second time frame of college football games on Saturday and the best matchup to watch is Georgia and Florida.

The Bulldogs haven’t been tested at all this year and while Florida has been a disappointment, the Gators are more talented than their record and nearly beat Alabama in the swamp.

The road losses to Kentucky and LSU were both killers for Florida but upsetting the Dawgs and ending their perfect season would be one way for Dan Mullen and company to turn things around.

Now, that’s very unlikely but it’s a rivalry game and it’s always fun to watch these two.

Other games

The Georgia-Florida game should keep your focus but there are some others to watch during commercials. One is Oklahoma and Texas Tech (ABC, 3:30 PM EST). The Red Raiders just fired their head coach and face Oklahoma, with Caleb Williams, who has taken the college football world by storm, outside of last week’s first half at Kansas.

Purdue at Nebraska (ESPN2, 3:30 PM EST) is another to watch as the Boilermakers try to rebound and keep up in the Big Ten West race, while Scott Frost just tries to save his job. A loss at home to Purdue, which would put the Huskers at 3-6 would be tough to take for Nebraska fans.

Don’t look now but Minnesota is tied atop with the Big Ten West with Iowa at 3-1. The Gophers will play Northwestern (BTN, 3:30 PM EST) in a game that could have Minnesota playing for first alone in the Big Ten West, depending on the Iowa-Wisconsin outcome in the morning.

And while Oregon is a heavy favorite over Colorado, the Ducks will host Colorado (FOX, 3:30 PM EST) so it’s worth having on the radar as something to monitor as you flip back and forth.
