The last Saturday of October is here and with it comes Halloween. Will there be any scares on the scoreboard in Week 9? The season has not disappointed thus far.

Last week featured no ranked versus ranked games yet there were two top teams, Penn State and Oklahoma State, falling to unranked opponents. Cincinnati and Oklahoma also had to stave off upset bids from Navy and Kansas, respectively.

This week there is a huge top-10 matchup in East Lansing as the Wolverines take on Sparty. There are also two other ranked versus ranked matchups. Penn State looks to rebound in a tough matchup against Ohio State. Ole Miss and Auburn look to shake things up in the SEC West.

Besides the big contests, there are some not getting the attention they make actually deserve. Last week both the Nevada versus Fresno State and Utah versus Oregon State clashes were on the under-the-radar games. Both turned out to be good, back-and-forth contests.

Week 9’s under-the-radar picks feature two Group of Five contests and one Power Five game that some may say is a reach as a good contest. With only about a month left in the regular season though, seems like a good idea to take in as many games as possible no matter who is playing.
