3. Kenneth Walker III is the front runner for the Heisman trophy

According to Vegas, this takeaway was not true. Coming into this game, Walker had the 6th best odds (according to BetMGM) to take home this year’s trophy. After today, Vegas should get back to the drawing board and give Walker more respect for what he has done.

Today’s game was his finest performance yet. He finished with 208 total yards and five touchdowns. We in the College Football world always love to point to a “Heisman moment” that solidifies a player’s stance as the best in all of college football.

Well, today Walker had two of those Heisman moments. One being an explosive 58-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game at 30. The second was the TD burst that would eventually give Michigan State the win.

Walker came into this game with 997 rushing yards and 10 total touchdowns through just seven games. He has rushed for over 150 yards four times this year and recorded 3+ touchdowns on three occasions.

He has more than enough production for his Heisman case and now has displayed the ability to play at a high level in high-pressure situations.
