6. Ohio State (7-1)

Week 9 result: Defeated Penn State 33-24

Ohio State really didn’t look all that great on Saturday. I was pretty surprised that this was a close game and that they weren’t able to cover the spread against Penn State.

The nation’s top offense was held to 33 points in its first real challenge since Oregon. I have to give some credit to Penn State who did put up a very good fight though.

The Buckeyes could never quite break away from the Nittany Lions. Their biggest lead throughout the whole game was 10 points.

Ohio State had no problems moving the ball downfield but couldn’t capitalize in the red zone on numerous occasions. They were held to just 5 of 14 on 3rd down conversions and attempted more field goals than they’ve ever needed in the last year. Their kicker Noah Ruggles might have been the MVP of this one going 4-4 in field goals. That was the truly difference in the game.

Next game: vs Nebraska

My prediction: Win 40-21
