Big Ten Power Rankings Week 10: Spartans defeat Wolverines at home.

Here is an interesting Scott Frost statistic: Frost has won just two more games (15) during his tenure in Lincoln than he did in 2017 (13). Frost might be Nebraska’s favorite son, but it is not working. Frost has missed several recruits during his tenure and two of the best players he had (Wan’Dale Robinson and J.D. Spielman transferred).

Though they looked better at times, the Cornhuskers program looks no better than it did when Frost got there. Adrian Martinez is still wildly inconsistent, and Frost is supposed to be a quarterback guru.  The Huskers could finish 3-9 with Ohio State, Wisconsin and Iowa left on the schedule.

It is hard not to root for the Knights. This team does not have an outstanding roster, but they play hard for head coach Greg Schiano. Rutgers’ 20-14 win against Illinois broke a four-game losing streak. The Knights host Wisconsin this weekend in what should be a physical contest.

The most challenging part of Rutgers’ schedule is over, and with four games left, the Scarlet Knights have an opportunity to get to the postseason if they can win two of those games.

One game the Scarlet Knights would likely need to win is against the Maryland Terrapins. Maryland has an interesting schedule the rest of the way. The Terps have Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan and end the season against Rutgers.

Their 38-35 win against Indiana was one they had to have. Maryland now needs one win to go bowling. There is a good chance that that game could be between the Scarlet Knights and the Terrapins.
