Chris Petersen, former HC Boise State, and Washington

This is another name that might surprise people since Chris Petersen just retired from Washington a couple of years ago but his name is generating buzz around the TCU job.

The Horned Frogs are reportedly going to gauge his interest and if that gets any traction at all, and he doesn’t take the job, the Huskers should absolutely call him if they have an opening.

Nebraska football can pay him as an elite head coach and he is after winning the Fiesta Bowl twice and coaching Washington to the College Football Playoff, as well as a pair of Pac-12 championships.

Coaching at Nebraska would suit Petersen, who is pretty soft-spoken and doesn’t seem to have a controversial bone in his body.

He’s sort of like Mike Riley, outside of the fact that he’s actually proven he can win at an elite level and resurrect a former power (Washington) back to its glory days.
