3. What’s next for Mizzou moving forward?

Missouri got flat-out outplayed today on both offense and defense. There was a reason that the Dawgs were favored by nearly 40 points today.

There are now question marks surrounding injured quarterback Connor Bazelak, and whether or not he will return this season. Eliah Drinkwitz said he would be evaluated going forward.

Bazelak has 2,138 yards and 13 touchdowns on the year so far.

Though Bazelak starting likely would not have changed the outcome of this game, he definitely would have given the Tigers a better chance. They were playing Georgia close until the end of the first quarter when the Dawgs unleashed for 40 unanswered points.

Looking ahead at Missouri’s schedule, they have three games left against SEC teams South Carolina, Florida, and Arkansas. They will need to win two of them to get to bowl eligibility.

They do have an advantage with Florida and South Carolina being home games, and Arkansas has come back down to earth a bit after being in the top 10 earlier this year. The Tigers and Gamecocks are two similar teams, and Florida has had a disappointing 2021.

Coach Drinkwitz is still rebuilding this program, and while he has made strides, he still has a ways to go to get the Tigers back into SEC East contention.
