Michigan State Football: 3 takeaways from upset loss to Purdue
2. Kenneth Walker III added on to already great 2021 resume
Kenneth Walker III may not have had five touchdowns against Purdue on Saturday but still had a very impressive game. Walker III finished with 22 rushes for 136 yards on the ground, with one touchdown run as well. He did have the fumble on the first possession of the game but still had a great game overall.
Walker III once again finished the game with at least 100 yards rushing. He has now rushed for at least 100 yards in seven of the nine games this year. The Spartans may have lost the game but his performance today is good enough to still be considered a Heisman candidate and definitely should be getting an invite to the Heisman trophy ceremony next month in December.
The star running back for Michigan State still has a few games left including their biggest remaining game at Ohio State in a few weeks to add onto already a very good resume overall.
Expect a few more 100-yard rushing games out of Walker III in 2021.
