College Football Playoff Top 10: Week 10 recap, previewing Week 11
By Mitch Kaiser
5. Ohio State (8-1)
Week 10 result: Defeated Nebraska 26-17
Poor Scott Frost. He once again came so close to getting a huge win for the Nebraska program only to lose by nine. Nebraska has lost six conference games this season all of them have been by single digits. That has got to be painful if you’re a Cornhusker fan.
But enough about Nebraska. This is about Ohio State who once again didn’t play all that well. CJ Stroud did not look great and made a few questionable decisions throwing into double coverage multiple times. He’s lucky that only two of them were picked off because he had four turnover-worthy plays in this game according to PFF.
The Buckeyes did find another star wide receiver though in Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He carried the load offensively this week as Garrett Wilson was out with an injury. He finished with 240 receiving yards and a touchdown which earned him a PFF grade of 82.2.
This Buckeye defense is definitely way better than they were to start the season, but they may have gotten lucky in this one with Nebraska missing a couple of field goals. Ohio State will now face three likely ranked teams in a row to end the regular season. The stakes have never been higher for this team.
Next game: vs. Purdue
My prediction: Win 34-16
