3. Brennan Armstrong is not 100 percent

Brennan Armstrong has had a great year so far for Virginia and is a key piece to their high-powered offense. Thing is that nobody is sure if the talented quarterback is even healthy enough to play.

Against BYU, late in the game, Armstrong was injured on a tackle and had to leave the game after throwing a pick. It is a rib injury of some sort. We just do not know the severity of the injury. The left-handed gunslinger has thrown 3,557 yards and 27 touchdown passes through nine games.

Bronco Mendenhall came out and said that he is optimistic and is planning for Armstrong to be the quarterback, but at the same time said that the next update would mostly not be until the Virginia offense takes the field on Saturday night under the lights.

Even if Armstrong is able to play, at what percentage is he going to be playing? One thing that Virginia has going for them is they had a bye week before this matchup against Notre Dame to try and get as much rest as possible for their starting quarterback.

The Cavaliers could be trying to mess with Notre Dame to make sure they game plan for multiple quarterback instead of just focusing on Armstrong. If Armstrong does suit up and play he will not be at 100 percent overall so most likely he will not be the same player overall. Defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman will have the Irish defense ready to go come Saturday whether its Armstrong or not.
