Loser: Auburn (Unranked)

Just two weeks ago, Auburn was a two-loss team that could potentially crash the playoff field if they could win out. Auburn got beat up a week ago when they played Texas A&M and then responded by blowing a 28-3 lead against Mississippi State and falling to 6-4. This has been mostly a good season for Bryan Harsin and the Tigers, but these last two weeks have been tough for Auburn.

Auburn still has a chance to ruin their rival’s season in two weeks when Alabama visits the plains. Auburn loves to play the role of spoiler and is going to have their chance in a couple of weeks.

Loser: Penn State (Unranked)

The Nittany Lions were one of the best stories early in the season, but the past month has not been kind to Penn State. They had their chances against Michigan on Saturday, but the offensive line could not protect Sean Clifford and Michigan got the win in Happy Valley. It is tough to know for sure, but it would be interesting to know how much James Franklin and the speculation of him taking other jobs might be affecting this team. This has been a disappointing finish for a team that was in the top five not long ago.
