6. Michigan (9-1)

Week 11 result: Defeated Penn State 21-17

This is not your typical Michigan team. This team is different. The old Michigan team would’ve choked and lost this game. But not this team. Jim Harbaugh has got his guys ready to play week in and week out and has really done a heck of a job this season.

Winning on the road at Penn State is impressive no matter who you are. And doing it in mid-November with one of your star running backs out is even more impressive.

Defense was the name of the game in this one which was expected. I anticipated it would be a slow, low-scoring, defensive matchup. Give credit to Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo, Michigan’s two best defenders, for combining for five total sacks on Sean Clifford. Their defensive line was absolutely ferocious and got pressure on Clifford all game long.

It might be the first time we’ve said this all year but Cade McNamara may have been the MVP for the Wolverines in this one. He truthfully won them the game with a big drive late in the fourth quarter to take the lead. That has to be a confidence-booster for McNamara who knows he has a huge game coming up in two weeks.

But Michigan can’t afford to even think about that game yet. First, they’ll have to take care of business next week against Maryland.

Next game: vs. Maryland
Prediction: Win 38-17
