9. Notre Dame (9-1)

Week 11 result: Defeated Virginia 28-3

Notre Dame continues to be one of the hottest teams in the country with another blowout win this Saturday. The Irish held one of the highest-scoring offenses in the country to just three points. Sure Virginia’s starting quarterback didn’t play, but still, that’s impressive no matter what.

The Irish didn’t even to do all that much on offense to win big. They took the simple route by pounding the rock and electing for quick throws to just keep the chains moving.

Michael Mayer had his best game in a while with 84 yards and a touchdown which was good enough to get him an 84.7 PFF grade. Mayer has emerged as one of the best tight ends in the entire nation and has shown why having a great tight end can boost your offense so much.

I keep saying to watch out for this Notre Dame team. The chances are very slim, but they still have a shot at sneaking into the playoff if they can get some help from the teams ahead of them assuming they win their final two games.

Next game: vs. Georgia Tech
Prediction: Win 38-22
