1. Bryce Young has his Heisman moment

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how Kenneth Walker deserved to be considered the front runner of the Heisman race. It is tough for me to hold onto that opinion after a day in which Kenneth Walker rushed for 25 yards, while Bryce Young puts up 559 yards and five touchdowns.

Young, Walker, and CJ Stroud all played in must-win games today. On this day in which all of those respective teams needed a win, it was Young and Stroud who stood out.

Young’s Heisman resume is very strong. Today was the third time on the year in which Young had 5+ total touchdowns. The true sophomore from Santa Ana has also thrown for over 300 yards in seven of 11 games.

What stands out most, is Young’s continued improvement week-to-week. Bryce looks like a far better QB now than he did early in September. For him to play his best football against the toughest competition is a great bonus for a player competing in a Heisman race.
