Big 12 is on the rise

We got some clarity in the Big 12 title race on Saturday as Oklahoma eliminated Iowa State with a win in Norman, while Oklahoma State and Baylor held serve.

For the Cowboys, it meant a guaranteed trip to the Big 12 title game. And now that Oregon has lost, Oklahoma State, if it is able to win back-to-back games against Oklahoma, and probably then Baylor, could put itself back into the playoff mix.

Baylor has a solid resume too and if the Bears only had one loss, they could be a playoff contender too, especially with a non-conference win over BYU.

But a win over Texas Tech would get the Bears to 10 wins and a loss by Oklahoma to Oklahoma State would send Baylor and Dave Aranda to the Big 12 title game.

One thing we know for sure: Aranda is Big 12 Coach of the Year.
