Heisman Trophy watch 2021: Top 4 contenders heading into Week 13
2021 Heisman Trophy Candidate No. 1: C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State
We are skipping the No. 2 spot in our pecking order because as of right now, I have Stroud and Bryce Young sitting tied for first in our Heisman rankings.
Stroud has been sensational for the Buckeyes. He leads the nation in QBR rating, is tied for fourth in touchdown passes (36), and is eighth in passing yards (3,468), and missed a game due to injury.
Over his last seven games, Stroud has thrown 28 touchdown passes and just two interceptions. And this weekend in Ann Arbor, he will get a chance to beat a fourth-ranked team in five weeks as the Buckeyes have beaten Penn State, Purdue, and Michigan State in the last four games.
If Stroud can keep up his pace of touchdown passes, he will hit 40 by the end of the season, and putting up huge numbers while leading Ohio State to a Big Ten title will make him hard to beat.
But one guy that can still topple him is Young and here’s how.
