2. Kyren Williams becomes back-to-back 1,000-yard rusher

When was the last time Notre Dame had someone rush for 1,000 yards or more in back-to-back seasons?

It’s been a while, you have to go all the way back to 2005 and 2006 when Darius Walker torched defenses for 1,196 yards as a sophomore and 1,267 yards in his junior season.

Kyren Williams is going to have himself a day and get over the mark against Stanford. Williams is knocking on the door with 928 yards. So having 78-plus yards will get him in that exclusive club and over the 1,000 yards mark for the season.

The 5-foot-9 St. Louis native has been playing terrific football this season. Not only is he excellent at running the ball, but he’s also done a great job catching passes from quarterback Jack Coan — 40 of them so far this season for 339 yards and three touchdowns.

With Stanford allowing more than 240 rushing yards per game, this game has all the trappings for Williams to have a big rushing day and climb over the 1,000-yard mark.
