Cowboys win the battle on the ground

Oklahoma State football has had a formula for winning games this season and a big part of that has been running the football.

Spencer Sanders is a dual-threat option and he’s added to the running game but Jaylen Warren is the top option with more than 1,000 yards on the ground and 10 touchdowns.

Last week, Oklahoma football was outstanding against Breece Hall and Iowa State, limiting the Cyclones to just 51 yards rushing. That’s a huge reason why the Sooners won the game and they will need a similar effort Saturday night in Stillwater.

Both defenses are solid against the run and allow less than four yards per attempt. Oklahoma needs to get the ground game going to take pressure off of its young quarterback but against the Cowboys, it’s going to be tough sledding.

The Oklahoma offensive line hasn’t played great in recent weeks and I don’t see that changing Saturday night. Oklahoma State football, on the other hand, will get some key runs from Sanders, and along with Dominic Richardson, that will help OSU win the battle of the ground games convincingly.
